Collection & Red Carpet Reviews
Rachel Zoe Pre-Fall 2014
A couple weeks ago I tweeted "Give me a collection in black and white and I will be one happy girl." Well here it is in all of it's Studio 54 glory. Rachel Zoe may be no Hedi Slimane or Alexander Wang but she makes wearable clothes for a seemingly stylish and ambitious young woman. This collection sat well with me not just due to its 70's vibe, but because it speaks to me on a more aesthetic level. I declared once that my style seemed to lie somewhere between a laid back born and raised California girl and a structured taxi hailing, speed walking New Yorker. That's where this collection lands in my opinion. There's chic moto jackets and dresses with geometric silhouettes, but there's also a fair share of wide legged jumpsuits and trousers. This collection is the ultimate go-to for a bi-costal babe, who could survive primarily on mixing and matching pieces from this collection. In terms of the color palette, which is primarily black and white (my obvious favorite) with hints of Baroque prints, tweed, and a touch of purple. This collection is easily one of my favorites form the Pre-Fall collections, it's easy, classic, and versatile and you just can't go with black and white!

White was clearly a popular color at this year's AMA's. A few of my favorite looks ended up being white which is no shocker because I am a huge fan of white especially in the winter! White is clean and chic and always looks so fashion forward and glamorous.
Kendall Jenner: Kendall wore a KeepSake top & skirt with cut-outs and a sharp silhouette. It's modern and clean. She topped it off with a pair of pointed single sole pumps in nude and a Dylanlex necklace. I am so excited she wore this necklace because I am such a huge fan of this jewelry designer. She makes gaudy pieces but in the most amazingly chic way. Kendall looks clean and simple with her hair down, parted in the middle and a red lip. I love this look and would put it on a client in a heartbeat if I were a stylist.
Nicole Richie: Nicole Richie wore a beautiful floor length Emilio Pucci white cut-out dress. She looked stunning, she added a chunky gold necklace, a black fringe clutch, and pulled her hair back which put all the focus on the dress. I especially love this look for a few reasons; she was able to make such large cut-outs look classy and despite how classic white is she still looks fun which is appropriate for the AMA's. There's no surprise Nicole Richie looks so great she is always on point.
Zendaya: I have no clue who this girl is but she looks phenomenal in this Donna Karan creation! She looks like a true Hollywood star. Her hair, the two piece outfit, and the accessories- she nailed it. She is beautiful and I cannot wait to see more of what this girl has to offer.

My second group of favorites just so happen to be the ladies dressed in black. Obviously there is a theme here, I am a massive fan of black and white, especially together. As I have said in a previous post, black is also classic, chic, and undeniably effortless.
Naya Rivera: Naya Rivera wore this incredible black Michael Kors dress. She oozed sex appeal. The cut out is the perfect size and in the perfect spot. She also looks like the definition of a Hollywood star. I love the gold cuffs and the train. I would have loved to see her with a sleek ponytail or even some up-do with a braid crown. I think either one of these hair styles would have been an unexpected surprise.
Ciara: Ciara has really been on a roll recently. I have been loving her short hair and she has been looking very fashion forward. She is wearing a sheer J. Mendel dress with panels of prints. This dress is sexy but still sophisticated. She looks great and pretty effortless. This look is an A+ for me.
Ke$ha: I am as shocked as you that this is happening right now but Ke$ha looks amazing. Definitely very Angelina Jolie-esq with the leg but none the less a very pleasant surprise. Her cotton candy hair is also amazing. Surprisingly, I love the way it looks with this sophisticated black dress it is a nice contrast and appropriate for this award show.

Last but not least were the shades of red and metallics and the combination of both!
Arianna Grande: Arianna Grande looked great in this Dolce & Gabbana dress! It was beautiful and age appropriate. On top of having the voice of a mini Mariah Carey she looked like one in this red, shimmery gown.
Emma Roberts: Emma Roberts was a presenter for the night. She wore this effortless Lanvin dress. I love the color and the silhouette! She looked wonderful and I adore the magenta pop of color in the clutch.
Lady Gaga: Honestly, I wish Lady Gaga would have worn this on the red carpet. I did like the lavender, Versace dress, but this is phenomenal. She looks like a Goddess, that flowing blonde hair and the dress are perfection.
Jenna Ushkowitz: Effortless and amazing, The color, the silhouette, everything! This is beautiful and flawless. I'm not sure who this woman is but she looks great. The tassel necklace is a perfect touch. This outfit is simple and stunning and exactly something I would put a client in.
